First orthodontic consultation
At the first consultation we assess tooth position, jaw relationship and bite, explain the treatment options and propose a plan going forward, with no obligation to begin treatment.

When is it time for a first consultation?
A first orthodontic consultation makes sense when an irregularity in tooth position, bite or jaw development is noticed.
For children, the consultation is also important preventively, at around 7 years of age, when developmental anomalies can be identified in time and we can assess whether treatment should begin immediately or monitoring is enough.

What does the first consultation involve?
The whole process is carried out clearly and step by step, with each stage explained. The choice of treatment depends on the diagnosis, and there is no single solution for every patient.
- 1
Discussion and medical history
We discuss the reason for the visit, any concerns and the expectations of the patient or parent.
- 2
Clinical examination
We assess tooth position, space within the dental arches, bite and jaw relationship.
- 3
Diagnostic records
We take intraoral and facial photographs, a digital scan and X-rays.
- 4
Plan and recommendation
Following analysis of the diagnostic records, a treatment plan is proposed.

Thorough diagnostics as the basis of every plan
Digital scans, facial photographs and X-rays allow a precise analysis and a treatment plan suited to your particular case.
A consultation does not always mean starting treatment straight away
In some cases it is recommended to begin treatment immediately, while in others it is more appropriate to wait for a certain stage of growth, tooth eruption or bite development.
The decision is made individually, based on the diagnosis. The aim is that the patient leaves with a clear picture of their situation and a clear recommendation, without being rushed.
Who the consultation is for
Children
Preventively from age 7, or when an irregularity is noticed. An early consultation does not necessarily mean immediate treatment.
Adolescents
Assessment of indications during the phase of intensive growth, when we can still successfully influence certain jaw and bite irregularities.
Adults
For aesthetic and functional reasons, or in preparation for other dental treatment.
A thorough consultation and expert assessment
If there is an irregularity in tooth position or bite, a first orthodontic consultation allows for timely assessment and a plan for the next steps. The goal is for the patient to leave the consultation with a clear understanding of what the examination has shown and a clear recommendation.
